How to Add Teams

Registering a New Team

If we’ve installed the demo data, we’ll find that three teams have already been created for us. You can always delete or overwrite any of the demo data that’s displayed throughout your website.

Let’s go and edit the Bentleigh Bluebirds team, and see what we have here. The demo data has created a player list, a league table, and some statistics for us.

Let’s go ahead and override it with our own team that we’ll call the “ThemeBoy Troopers”. We can go into the team page and change the site URL, the abbreviation, and the home venue. If we want, we can even have multiple home venues. for this example we’ll keep the competitions and seasons but of course we can add more or delete these as needed.

There is a profile section where we can add our own team description or bio, and our team logo that will be visible on our team page. Click update and let’s go see what it looks like.

Viewing the Team Page

So this is our team page. We have the logo, the player list, the league table, the profile description and a button that says “visit site” which will take us to the URL we added to the team page. So perfect, everything is showing up in this page.

We can now continue to add all of the teams in our league, which is a great way to get started and building up our new website.
