Creating a New Venue

The way we add venues is very similar to competitions and seasons. Give it a name, an optional slug, and a parent if you need to. For venues, you could use parent groups to specify which field or court the event will be held at. Just remember to select the main venue as the parent when creating these smaller venues.

The main difference when creating venues is that we’ll need to give Venues an address so your event pages can display a map of where the actual event is taking place.

Let’s go ahead and create a venue, so I’ll call this one WordPress stadium and enter an address. If it’s not accurate enough, we can drag the pin around to give it an exact location or change the Latitude and Longitude. Once we’ve got an accurate location, click the Add New button and we’ll now be able to select this venue whenever we create our events.
